Schloss A Pro

A Pro Castle is one of the most beautiful late Gothic pond houses in Switzerland. Situated near Lake Lucerne, it is one of the most highly regarded architectural and cultural sights in the canton of Uri. Its history, architecture and furnishings are a unique example of a 16th century manor house. A Pro Castle in Seedorf, surrounded by a moat, was built between 1555 and 1558 by the brothers Jakob I and Peter A Pro as a representative sign of their acquired wealth. Since 2022, A Pro Castle has been a member of the association "The Swiss Castles".

Restaurant and minerals

Since 2009, the castle has also been home to the Schloss A Pro restaurant, which is well-known beyond the canton's borders and will reopen under new management on November 1, 2025. Rooms on the second and third floors are used for smaller art exhibitions as well as for the presentation of minerals owned by the canton (e.g. Neat minerals).

Mineral museum near
