Kirchenschatz-Museum St. Martin

The church treasury of the parish church of St. Martin in Altdorf is one of the richest and most precious in the whole of original Switzerland. It includes gold and silver cult objects, crucifixes, reliquaries and candlesticks dating from 1500 to the early 19th century. A magnificent group of Gothic works forms the main part of the collection. The Renaissance and Baroque periods provide further highlights. Equally worth seeing are the historic Mass regalia and vestments made of precious silk fabrics with their magnificent embroidery.

Since 2009, art objects from the former Capuchin monastery in Altdorf have also been on display in the church treasure museum. It was the oldest Capuchin monastery in Switzerland.
