The disused Antonini quarry is a unique witness to the heyday of Uri's quarries and flourished with and after the construction of the Gotthard railroad in the 19th century. Many quarries have long been overgrown, only the Wassen quarry has been preserved. It was reopened as an open-air museum on June 24, 2012. Since summer 2014 - as a sign of hospitality - a bust of Rizal adorns the experience square in front of the open-air museum. Dr. José Rizal was a Filipino freedom activist and fought for independence. The full-size Rizal monument stands in the middle of the Philippine capital, Manila. It was designed and cast 100 years ago in Uri by Richard Kissling, the builder of the Tell monument, placed on a foundation of Wassner granite in Wassen and shipped to the Philippines.
Attractions of the open-air museum are a meeting place, the family fireplace, a biotope, an exhibition in the workshop building, the compressor house, the crushing plant and the information boards showing the life and craft of stonemasons. There is also a viewing platform.
