Haus der Volksmusik

The House of Folk Music was founded in 2006 and is the national competence center for folk music. The aim is to cultivate and support Swiss folk music in its regional and stylistic manifestations. The House of Folk Music documents, researches, communicates, promotes and advises on all aspects of Swiss folk music. The collections are open to the public at www.volksmusik.ch. Every two years, the House of Folk Music also organizes the Folk Music Festival in Altdorf.

Partnerships at home and abroad

Courses and events are organized, children's and youth camps are held, there is cooperation with target-related institutions, associations and clubs, and exchanges are cultivated at home and abroad. Partnerships are maintained with the Swiss Folk Music Association (VSV) and the Roothuus in Gonten, among others.
